About this deal

The Case of the Drowned Pearl is one of the mini mysteries in the Murder Most Unladylike series. It is written by Robin Stevens especially for World Book Day on 5 March 2020. The story takes place on the beach. I’m sorry this comment is so long: I wanted to make sure I had everything in it! I’m really looking forward to ‘MUA’ and whatever is to come. Congratulations on all of ‘Death Sets Sail’s’ success!

It said ‘Daisy I’ll wait’ in capitals throughout the letter, then the bit that said, ‘all my love, Amina’ was also in capitals so the whole message was: ‘Daisy, I’ll wait. All my love, Amina’.

The Case of the Drowned Pearl

A spoonful of murder. Lots of people do it as its a shorter way of saying the title like Death in the spotlight is DITS and Murder most unladylike is MMU. Hope that helps I have always loved trying to find out who the murderer is! This time, I told myself that it was the last book and I had to make it count! So every now and again, I would run the thoughts through my head and just think of the possibilities, I really think that this plot was the most clever and intriguing of all 9 murder cases, it took me so long to work it out, even when I was so determined, I finally summed up the evidence and realised that Heppy was pretending to sleepwalk! I don’t think I’ve ever read a book with more plot twists than this one, and I loved Amina and Daisy’s relationship. I would never have guessed it was Heppy! I can’t believe the series is over already! I can’t wait for MOUA to come in 2022. This book was definitely a fitting send-off for the Detective Society, and I loved every second of it. 11/10

At the end when Hazel believed Daisy dead, I am ever so glad that you put in the kiss between Alexander and Hazel, it was the moment that we had been waiting for ever since mistletoe and murder, it was like Alexander was reaching out to protect her from the sorrow of her lost by finally kissing her, a thing that he and she had been longing to do for an awful lot of time! All because of you and your AMAZING books I am now CRAZY about murder mysteries. I also enjoyed the guggenheim mystery, but that could never, ever ever get as good as murder most unladylike. Are you going to tell us about all of them in once upon a crime, or the ministry of unladylike activity? Every single time Daisy would say something like ‘I will never die’ or ‘We’ll be together forever’ I would feel my heart break. I love how you decided to confirm that she had died already in the first chapter, because countdown for her death made it so much more thrilling. The scene where Amina put a pillow over Daisy’s head? I was so tense, scared that it was them who had accidentely killed her. I think the fact that even though it’s set in the past but there are still not all British girls who like boys is really important. Because there are daisys, hazels, Alexanders, and George’s and i think that’s very good in children’s books.
