About this deal

The other players score points depending on where their cones are in relation to the scoring frame. Guessing the exact square is worth 3 points. Each cone within the frame but not in the exact center scores 2 points. And each cone adjacent to the frame on the outside scores 1 point. Hues and Cues is a very chill game. This is a good choice for players who often opt to not play or get intimidated by louder group/party games that involve a high level of improve or social deduction. The best part about Hues and Cues is that it can accommodate a large number of players — up to ten in fact. I appreciate that every player is able to play on their own rather than teams.

Is zero a valid answer?! When something comes to mind, I write it down and review it later when I have a few moments to see if there’s any validity in the thought. Other than that, I don’t have any formal creative process – or even scheduled time set aside to work on them! Giving the perfect clue to describe exactly the shade you are aiming for can feel especially rewarding. Then you’ll give a one word clue that you think will help players get close to where the square is. When I first read about the game, my initial thought was that the game wouldn’t have long-lasting legs to stand on. A game about guessing colors? How long before that completely loses its punch? In a round of Hues and Cues, the clue-giver will draw a card—giving them a color that they want to try to get everyone else at the table to guess. You’ll start by giving a one-word clue. Then everyone will place their pawns on the color they think represents the word you said.

Due to this glare issue, I have been very tempted to hit my copy of Hues and Cues with a coat of Testors Dullcote. Only one piece can be placed on each space. The players made their first guess based on the clue “turquoise”. Two-Word Cue To make the game easier for younger players, you can choose to use a variant rule. Instead of drawing a card, the players will choose any color they want from the gameboard. This allows players to choose a color that they can give better cues for. The player should write down the coordinates of the color they chose. One-Word CueHues and Cues is an easy game to learn. All you are trying to do is get players to guess a specific color on the board. If they can get close to the spot, they earn points! After playing this color game, you’ll probably have ideas about how to modify the rules for your own specific needs. Here are some of my suggestions you could also try.

At this point the players will compare their scores. The player that has scored the most points wins the game. The green player scored the most points in the game. Therefore the green player has won the game. On a player’s turn, they draw a color card and choose 1 of the 4 colors to be their target color. The location/coordinates of the color on the board is also listed below it on the card. Let’s go with the green. Now I have to come up with a cue. After all of the markers have been placed, the scoring rig descends from the heavens, centered around the color that was initially chosen. Players score based on how close they were to guessing the exact color, and the Cue-giver scores based on how many people were centered around their color. You could also challenge students to see how many different colors on the board they can create a matching cue for. Or have them come up with creative color names for as many different colors on the board as they can . A color game for FaceTime calls
