I've just spent about six hours trying to work out why (when recording with Reaper) the mix in my headphones was in Mono ...I've installed new ASIO drivers, gone through every setting in Windows 7 and Reaper ...you name it, I've done it! The DT 770 PRO is a closed dynamic headphone of exceptional quality at a great price, suitable for demanding professional and audiophile applications. The long-term comfort and accurate performance make the DT 770 PRO excellent monitoring headphones for recording studios, post production, or broadcasting situations.
What’s it like to use the Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO (80Ω)?
The PRO range contains classic world-renowned studio headphones that are great for producing, mixing, mastering and other studio tasks. But you really do need to use a high-quality amplifier or audio interface to get the most out of these headphones. For decades our PRO headphones have been the reference for professional sound in recording studios all over the world. That leaves only one question: Which headphones are the right ones for you? I still don't know what or why - but after an hilarious amount of pain, it turned out to be the adaptor ...Oh, and my meter is now reading 88.8 ohms for each driver (in case you care)
For decades now, professional users all around the world have placed their trust in our classic range: DT 770/880/990 PRO. These benchmark-setting studio headphones, available in three different models, boast extremely detailed resolution and very transparent sound. The DT 770 PRO is a closed dynamic headphone and has been designed for critical music and sound monitoring. The single sided cable makes the handling of the headphone easy. The cushion system allows the DT 770 PRO to be used comfortably for long periods of time. Currently, these are unamped. My amp should be delivered tomorrow, and I will give it a try and see if this resolves its self. Could this be the cause? From what I've read around here and other places, this shouldn't cause any damage either. Thanks to the STELLAR.45 driver, The PRO X range are going to sound excellent in the Studio, plugged into an interface or amplifier – but you can also use them on the go if you plug them into a laptop or a smartphone as they are going to turn up very loud.
