About this deal
Just like Mi Band, Amazfit Band 5 has a 1.1 inch full colour AMOLED, with 2.5D curved glass protection. That’s actually a nice size for a fitness band. The colours are really vibrant and the text is quite sharp thanks to the126 x 294 pixel resolution and brightness up to 450 nits. On the whole, it worked well. It was able to able to recognize queries correctly on the first attempt. It handled queries about the weather, upcoming sports fixtures and recipes, where it will prompt you as to whether you want to follow the recipe on the band. It's perhaps not the biggest screen to read a recipe on, but it works. I was keen to try it out. What follows are my impressions after living with it on my wrist for the past ten days. Design

The Mi Smart Band 5 is light and comfortable to wear at night, and will automatically go about its business monitoring your sleep. To get the best sleep data, you’ll need to enable the sleep assistant mode in the companion app, though you'll be warned that this will affect its battery life. That sits around a 1.1-inch full color AMOLED touchscreen display with a 126 x 294 resolution. You're also getting something that has a 5 ATM waterproof rating, making them safe for pool swimming up to 50 metres and showering with it on.Additionally, therean automatic activity detection option that can be enabled in the settings. This tries to figure out if you are doing exercise and automatically increases heart rate sampling if it sees that you are active. The Mi Band 6 features a 125 mAh capacity battery just like the Mi Band 5 and that should get you up to 14 days in typical usage and 20 days in power saving mode . In our heavy usage testing, it was 7 days. If you turn off more power intensive features like continuous heart rate monitoring, you will get longer. Heavy usage scenario: Heart rate monitoring is always on and measures at 1-minute intervals, high-precision sleep and all-day stress monitoring are enabled; 200 pushed messages a day; receive 15 call notifications per day, vibrations last for 10 seconds each time; raise wrist to see device time 500 times; sync with the Zepp App once per day; test blood-oxygen 2 times per day; exercise data is recorded for 90 minutes per week.

For the Mi Band 6, you're getting something with a similar sized polycarbonate case and plastic strap combo with the same style pin clasp that we can't say we absolutely love. That houses a larger 1.56-inch, 152 x 486 resolution AMOLED display. You're getting the same water resistant rating as the Amazfit Band 5 here too.The most obvious one is the touch button below the display. The Amazfit wearable has a circular one, the Xiaomi an oval one. Another difference is that the whole thing is a tiny bit larger than Mi Band. Its actual dimensions are47.2 x 18.5 x 12.4 mm. The Amazfit Band 5 launches on 25 October and may appear from other retailers once it goes on general release. There's a decent array of smartwatch features on board the Band 5. For starters, it's compatible with Android phones and iPhones. We had it paired with an Android phone and didn't experience any issues with pairing or syncing.
Why is Xiaomi Mi Band 5 better than Amazfit Band 5?
It's not an always-on screen, though the raise to wake gesture was pretty reliable for us. Visibility is good on the whole, but you'll need to crank it up to the maximum brightness setting in brighter outdoor daylight based on our experience.
